I'm reading Grapette started marketing Lymette in 1963, However, Lymette never achieved the popularity of the other flavors., does anyone know how many years the product was sold?
I couldn't find the history spelled-out but I did find enough to give you a general timeline. Apparently it started out as a syrup that came in various animal-shaped bottles such as a cat and a clown. The bottles also had a slotted cap so it could be used as a bank. As near as I can determine those type of syrup bottles were used from around 1952 until about 1962. As for the carbonated bottles like yours, I could only find ads for them from 1962 and 1963. It appears to have been a short-lived soft drink. The attachments are as follows ...
1. 1952 Ad - Earliest I could find for syrup
2. 1954-55 Trademark 611,502 (along with a few others by Grapette)(Syrup)
3. 1962 Ad - Earliest I could find for soft drink
4. 1963 Ad - Latest I could find for soft drink
5.6.7. - Cat syrup bottle with paper label (date unknown - matches 1952 ad)
Plus this bottle on eBay - L-G = Liberty Glass Co. / 62 = 1962
