I have a pin with the golden spike on it. pat. Jan 31, 1893 is gold w/ a diamond, will try to get a good pic, but camera dosn't like close ups. I am trying to find info on it. If anyone knows of a railway history buff that could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. My Mom & I found it in an old junk box. & I fell in love w/ it as soon as I saw it. Perhaps it was a 50 yr anniversary of the golden spike ceremony?

any kind of identification stamps or markings on the back of the pin???

just says pat. Jan. 31 1893 on the front is ORO Y PLATA

It looks like a mining executives retirement pin. Oro Y Plata means silver and gold and is also the Montana state moto.

that's interesting, my thoughts never went in that direction. always thoght w/ the spike it had to be railroad. I will see where this this new path takes me. Thanx!
