You got that right!!!!!!!!! A neat sample of bottlemysteries, except the swing is exceptional because it is so low in the bottle. These are caused by the collapse of the parison letting the inside walls touch and the swing is stretched when the glass is blown out to the mold wall. Thanks for thinking about my likes of old glass making marks. They make the hobby interesting.

Thank you for the compliments on presentation. It's quite a tricky one to truly capture in a picture. Needs to be lit several different ways to show each of the points that I wanted to show. Doing it right for all these bottles would be a full time job. I wouldn't have time to dig.

Found this 1866 ad in a Harper's weeky mag that describs the miracles of health associated with Gregg's life syrup.

http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/h/harpersweekly/harpersweekly-idx?coll=harpersweekly;type=HTML;rgn=DIV1;id=;byte=839158

The bottom of the ad has a particularly poignant bit of information:

Buy it, Take it, and be Cured.
WILLIAM H. GREGG, M.D., Sole Proprietor, NEW YORK.
PRICE $1 PER BOTTLE. SIX BOTTLES FOR $5.
Sent by Express to all parts of the Country.

Finding 6 in the same hole blown in the same mold can pretty well date that upper use layer to 1866
