Those can't be commonly dug. I can't imagine they survive the initial toss, much less the following 100+ years of weather and whatnot..

I've always wanted a lady's leg - any one, slick or not. I don't mean any old bottle with a bulge in the neck - I've lots of those. To me, this shape here is the only one that should be called a lady's leg. Since I especially collect bitters, this would be a nice one. To me, though, a milk glass Sazerac would be the neatest of all.

Sorry to hear you can't afford one, Barb - I was counting on one from you for my B'day![:D]

Hello Dave , I have a Canton's Bitters I posted some time back . Tried to find out an estimated book value form the forum , but got no response . Do you by chance have a bitters book with this one listed that could give me an estimated value of this bottle . I have always heard it was a fairly common one .

Hi ,
The Canton and the Reed's are both listed as scarce.
Value on your Canton really depends on condition and coloration. An Amber Canton I would say around 325.00 +.
My auction report has them listed all the way from 165.00 to 385.00 . And that was 1990's prices realized from several different auction houses.
I have always liked the ladies leg Bitters , and one could put a nice grouping together of just ladies leg bitters .

Hello Brian and thanks for the info . as stated , I was always told this was a common bitters over the years . This one is a fairly dark amber , good all the way . Like you , I love the lady's leg bottles as well . Regretfully , this is the only one I have except for a lady's leg whiskey . If I had money to spare I would like to have a milk glass lady's leg bitters , but it just doesn't fit into the budget ! Then too , there are many other bottle I would like to have as well . Thanks again for the info on the bitters , I appreciate you taking the time to do so for me .

No problem . I missed your original post or I would have chimed in then.
I also like the Sazerac ladies legs .... milk glass , and the greens .
I collect Drake's Plantations , and there is speculation that the P H D & Co. monogram on the Sazerac's could stand for
Patrick Henry Drake ...... I don't know if anyone has researched this and confirmed it or not .

Here is a pic of my Drake's Brian , it is not as stained as I was thinking it was . It is a fairly light colored amber , had a hard time with trying to get a pic of it showing its true color . I was wondering , how many different variations of the Drakes Bitters are there ?
