Dug a small rural dump clean today, it was mostly on the surface and none of it went very deep. It is in an odd spot too: just at the junction of property lines and pretty far out for someone to haul trash, no real housing nearby. I was probing like a madman and seeking out patches of undug debris. My guess is it was not used as a dump for a very long time, but some of the shards we found were real heartbreakers! I do know it was picked through already but I knew they would leave us some bottles Here's some snaps of the site and the loot. I got a nice amber whiskey mint except a small burst bubble, probably early 1900s, and a SWEET cobalt ink MINT dug! It was hard to believe these bottles sat here so long, they look almost new. A few commons also showed up to the party: super clean A&P and Burnetts extracts for xmas gifts What a great day to be outside, lookin forward to more digs at the deep dump tomorrow.
