Actually found a couple of tooled tops and finally-A 10/48 San Francisco Coke[]
The small one is embossed Winsor & Newton Ltd. the 8 3/4" is JAF&C. Any info in these anywhere?
The small one caught my eye, thought it might be an ink...
but it isnt.
Maybe its a small paint bottle???
go to ebay and type in this:
"Antique WINSOR & NEWTON old tin paint box"
Looks like its an English company???
anyway,
thanks for sharing the pics!!!
I did a google on J A F & C; http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:0UfH0CSup7gJ:www.angelfire.com/pop2/collectorscorner/USA_bottle_marks.html+J+A+F+%26+C+bottle&hl=en
Thanks Everyone! I was lucky to find anything tooled at all in this mess.
Wow, It's a coffee bottle. I guess just about everything has been bottled. Huh Mike. Folgers. Est. 1872 S.F. Seems like kind of a small neck for a ground material though. I've been looking for an S.F. Coke ever since I learned about the names on the bottom. I love finding local bottles. Now I need a San Jose. [] Paint makes sense for the small one. It's pretty grody. Here's the bottom. Nice little drip across the center. Really sloppy top.
It's probably the oldest thing here.[]
Thanks again! Jim.
