yup...they do turn up...i know of at least 5 cannon balls i've left.
just leave them behind due to weight..and no market for them..too much work to get em back.

i mainly find english bottles as bermuda is a colony of G/B.
the blue hamilton was a codd....dan rylands. 2nd broken one i've found in that spot...i found an intact one somewhere else...
the hybrid is the typical niagra version, the other codds were bermudian named ones.

Great pic! Is there ever a danger with the musket balls? If you did find a cannon ball as Rick asked, would that be dangerous to take home?

i've never had an issue with musket balls..unless we're talking lead poisoning...lol
all the cannon balls i've found seem to be of the solid iron variety...so no chance of explosions.

Great stuff!

I'll be back in the water diving for bottles in a couple of weeks off Eastport, Maine. Just a tad bit cooler water than in Bermuda at a chilly 46f right now but it'll reach 52f by the end of September. [:)]

it's currently 76.5 F right now...
in winter it drops down to .....60F !!!!! chilly by my standards..[;)]

What he is saying Red Is that musket balls are solid, they do not have any type of black powder in them.They are like bullets of today..lead
