Don't kill me, ACLBottles, eh? Again I'm back for round five of SHOW YOUR FAVORITE...!!! Either you're laughing or getting annoyed, but I loved your idea so much I'm once more creating what will hopefully be my last of this kind of thread (maybe!) I'm kind enough to combine bitters and medicine bottles into one, so.. Heh. Anyway! Two posts per person per bottle you show (limit three per category--gosh this sounds like a T.V. mail-in sweepstakes!) and unlimited comments welcome! Show your favorite bitters and/or medicine bottle with a description on it/history/age. Have fun, and enjoy your meds! (I know, no one ever tells you to like your medicines. Heh heh.)

I don't know if I'd go limiting the number of entries, because the more, the better to me. I know I really can't pick a favorite, and besides, when it comes to bottles, I like to see a thread keep on keeping on.

You a good man, bro. Here's, well, three. Told you I can't pick just one. L to R: Brinckerhoff's, Covert's, Swaim's. [attachment=swaims.JPG]

I'm not laughing or annoyed. I get to show some of my favorite bottles.
1850 to 1870'ish Dr Hooflands German Bitters. C M Jackson Philadelphia, for dyspepsia and liver complaint. Applied top, open pontil, very crude. C M Jackson started selling this bitters about 1850, a product attributed to a Dr Christoph Wilhelm Hueflin of Gena Germany. 1863 sold by Charles Evans and R S Jones of Phili. 1873 proprietors were Johnson & Holloway Co of Phili . There is a smooth base and labeled versions. Also a balsamic cordial and Greek oil. The kicker is this is a flea market find with five other bottles, paid about 6 dollars for it !
