Very interesting, nice hinges on that door! And... Do you happen to know anyone in Illinois that buys old Timberframe barns? Family owns a nice big one that isn't of much use presently. Worth a shot anyway, heh.

What are ya going to do with it?

Moving it to your place.

Get out your checkbook.

Or that puce eagle.

Good to see you today Rick and Badger. I've got a little time on this one. Gonna see if I can find a buyer for the frame, but if not, it will get parted out. The beams might go out west for some new house construction. It's only a few miles from home, so I would like to do a good dig of the dump. I'll probably get it started and turn my kids loose on it. PaWill is close by too.

That's about all I have for this one now. We'll see how it goes in a week or two when I can get a chance to start.

That's a little far for me! I am sure there are, you just need to find them. Email your number and the best time to call and I can give you some tips on what to look for in a salvager. dffertig at aol dot com

This barn is mid century. 1840's-1860's or so. But strap hinges didn't change much in that time.

No foundation by the sink. Just a bunch of rocks that were dumped along with the trash.

that's true, in different areas they were used longer too. I used to find them in CT and they were always on very early barns, at least the hand forged hinges. Wish you luck in the dump, it looks like a fun one
