small mason/ball jar

Here's a peculiar one I got today in a really bad 1930s pit only keeper
Has 444
4
on the bottom. It had the wire and bail but there was something aweful bad inside and I needed to stay in the pit

Looks like a common product jar, these were made by several companys. Any other writing on it like around the neck area? do you have a picture of the base?
