soda or beer

This bottle is embossed OBERMEYER & LIEBERMANNS BOTG DEPT in a circle with what looks like some kind of flower face in the middle. Also NEW YORK CITY REGISTERED. Aqua in color. Anyone know whether it was beer or soda. Any info about this bottle at all would be much appreciated. Thankyou........JD
