I haven't been digging much with the 90+ degree heat. My best rake also snapped back in May, so I've been toughing it. I recently had a good friend of mine repair it for me and he did a great job. Since I was itching to test it out, I visited a well-dug spot I've all-but exhausted. Fortunately for me there are always a few more!
I was pretty excited to find a broken historical flask shard (sheaf of wheat) from the 1860s. I later found a broken London condiment bottle with a really gnarly pontil.
I found three good bottles total in a pocket I missed, plus some marbles and a tomahawk axe head.
Whole bottles are: D.L. Ormsby New York (XX on back), Palmer & Madigan Importers Providence, RI, and plain medicine with nice mold leak at the shoulder.
Darn fragile flasks! They never seem to survive.
