Pup:
I have a John F Henry Balsam of the Lungs. He made multiple bottles I guess. Good luck with your searches. Mine is listed on Ebay. Happy New Year.

Dear Madpaddla,Thank you very much for the offer but I only collect Lyons powder shape insect powders,it's nice in a way so that I keep a small but interesting collection and concentrate on one catagory. After almost 25 years collecting it's nice to specialize. As far as your John Henry bottle goes,it sounds very interesting.John F.Henry came to New York around 1865 and worked for Demas barnes(Lyons powder fame). He founded the John F. Henry warehouse about 1868 having bought a share of Barnes business and became John F.Henry/Curran and company in 1873.He sold everything from insect powders to medicines and sundries. He made some nice smooth based, colored insect powders with his name affixed such as the cobalt example above in the picture. As far as I know he never produced any pontiled insect powders coming jsut after the pontiled era.Thank you for taking the time to write me and keep me in mind for any insect buggers you may find! Kev

I found this interesting fly trap trade card circa 1875-1885. Do you know if J C ALLAN & CO BUFFALO made any insect powders?

Another cool bug killer card from early 1880s... I guess these replaced or were competing with the insect powders?
