Started Digging again

Hi all, this is my first post so here goes..

I live in England, and have just started digging again after a break of 25 years. I've moved to the hills, and there are lots of places to look. There are lots of abandoned farms in the forests.

I found an old house, and quickly found the dump.

Here is the hole I started, the ash is very soft and quick to dig..

Here is the first bottle I found, a Daddies sauce. Not rare, but at least it's BIMAL..

I found a nice beer, but broken. It would have been a great find. I didn't mind though, I had great day

Most of the stuff I found today was 1920's, but the house goes back to 1870's, I'll dig in a different area next time, as the dump area is large. I started at the edge, but the good stuff will be in the middle. Made a big heap of spoil.., can't wait to get back.

Just out of curiosity, how far away from the ruins is the dump? i know of about 3 places just like yours here in the states. i couldnt locate the dump.

This one is probably about 1910. The brand still exists today in the UK...

I have older burst lip ones in my collection.

In the second photo you can just see the ruins in the background, so about 20 yards. They didn't seem to mind dumping very close to the house. I have another similar site but can't find the dump anywhere near it.

Originally this area would have no trees, and the dump would have been "over the garden wall". That gave me the clue where to dig ground high against one side of the wall, low on the other...
