Strange Bottle - Advice Needed

I was walking through local fields today where there are two 200 year old ruined farm houses, i found a bottle (size of a perfume bottle)
with the star of david and MO on it, but cannot find anything on the net..... can any of you help?? heres a pic, please tell me what you think... not had chance to clean it properally, but you get the idea.

Hi and welcome ,i have one similar ,i think they are considered holy water bottles ,here is pic of mine ,it is pre 1900 as the side seam stops at bottom ring at shoulder top is tooled .Sounds like you have a good spot if you can find the dump !

No holy water for us Hebs man. More likely oil. It was a custom to have a pouch or open toped box on the wall by the front door that held a writen prayer for the house and a small bottle of pure olive oil for blessing if needed.

Nice bottle! My guess on MO is myrrh oil, a holy annointing oil used in both Hebrew and Christian ceremonies. Now get back out there and find the rest!

The letters M amd O are hebrew words but I can't recall what they stand for.
