Found a note on the bottle which read "Very Rare Pictured Kovel Bottle Page 1128-Color Listed As To Rare to Price" I have few candy containers in my collection but I cannot find reference to this one and I don't have the Kovel's mentioned. Please help if any other information is out there. Thanks Enjoy the photos.

I don't think it's rare or a candy myself, it looks way to big. Wine or cod liver oil is my guess. How long is it?

Looking at the picture along side the other items I think that piece actually MAY BE a Candy Container. I also would like to know how long it is.In 2002 and 2003 Glass Works Auctions sold the entire collection of outstanding items owned by Bob & Beka Mebane including one of the best Candy Container collections ever assembled. (I have the hard bound catalog in front of me) Many of those items were / are on the large side, one measuring as much as 6 5/8 " long. (Ear of corn) Your item does not show up in this catalog so it COULD be a rarity. On the other hand, as Eric said, it may not be a Candy Container at all.More research may be in order. Fascinating !

Bottle measures 8 1/2" long with tin screw cap. Good ideas, could be a painted liver oil bottle, thanks.

8½-9½ is what I was thinking. Also, the cap looks like it's off a 1960-70 soda bottle.Man, I wish I had a mobile phone, I'd love to go play in the warmth and sunshine rather than hang around for a call that may never come.

I found it on Diggers site on a piece he did about Fish Bottles. It is a Cod Liver Oil Bottle made between 1890 and 1910 with a ground lip and cap as the one that is on it. Still have no idea of rarity or value. Thanks for pushing me in that direction.
