I found this bottle today diving my favorite spot in the river. It looks to be about 1890's. light green aqua strap sided medicine. Embossed TOWN TALK/TRADEMARK REG. I have found hundreds of patent meds while diving but this one has me stumped! What the heck is TOWN TALK?????
Thanks!
Tom

I found this bottle under an old train bridge in a civil war era river town in Southeastern Wisconsin. After an exhausting search on the internet, I have discovered that this is one of the earliest bottles from The Town Talk Silver Polish Co. in the United Kingdom. As a matter of fact the company replied to my e-mail to them, that this is one of the early bottles, and the company was founded in 1895, which is what this one dates to give or take.

Cool bottle Tom.Even though it was made for an English company it looks like an american made bottle. There are quite a few druggists blown in that mold.

Great bottle Tom. I agree with Doug. The bottle looks American so maybe they shipped the stuff in bulk and it was up to the distributor to re-bottle it. re-bottling from bulk still goes on today but it is not a new idea.

Thanks everyone for your insight. I love to post non Wisconsin bottles here because you guys always answer any question I have and put the mysteries to rest. When I found this thing , I literally scratched my head. What relevance could it have to Fort Atkinson Wi. as it was lying right beside a beautiful 1890's druggist from this town. Now we know these people believed in polishing their jewelry. The company has a person in charge of their archives and apparently he is going to shed some light on where this bottle fits into the past. I already offerred to send it over there and to donate it to their area of company memorabilia. I haven't heard back yet, but when I do I will post it here.
Thanks again! Tom
PS, Tony my camera is an older Olympus FE 100. It works great for this kind of stuff!

Here are the two other bottles I found within a foot of the Town Talk bottle. It was a small pile of discarded bottles in the river.
