From what I have researched about the Masonic/Eagle flask here is what happened sometime in 1817. I dropped a small scope type camera down the inside of the bottle opposite the oval and you can see very faintly the remnants of the letter S in reverse where the mold was altered.

The walls of the GI-114 are paper thin, while the GIV-1A on the other hand could be dropped twenty feet into a stone liner and survive with just a bruise.

Thank you Steve for that additional information. I now know more about those two flasks than when I owned them.

Thank all of you for the kind words / compliments, I am humbled. Praise God.

Those are some great flasks! Just goes to show that collecting bottles is not about the bottles, its about the great people you meet. Bottle collectors are some of the nicest people I have ever met and are always willing to help you whatever it is.

Real nice flasks Steve. There sure are a lot of nice people in the bottle world once you start to get to know others with the same addiction. I have had people I didn't even know at bottle shows walk up and just give me rare local bottles just because they knew I collected them from reading this forum. Still lots of awesome people out there despite what we hear most of the time.
