I am a Precious Metal Refiner. This is the process that I use to recover Gold from Glassware. It works just as well for Iron stains.

Keep those Gold Plated glass fragments that you find out digging.

I can and do process such material for 1/2 the recovery.

Sincerely;

Hi. I have a lot of 'dug' bottles I have kept in my barn for 50 years. I have started to clean them and some have rust stains on the inside and/or outside. If I put Muratic acid and water in a plastic container what is the strongest ratio of acid to water I can use without damaging the glass and how long should I leave the bottle in the mixture? Then if I put baking soda and water in a container what would the ratio be and how long does it need to be submersed to be neutralized? Thank you.
