Was going to do some privy digging Sunday, but no one else was availible, so decided to scout future dig sites instead. Came across this crusty old thing, sort of overgrown but the privy ought to be findable. When I came around the other side, noticed the door was gone, couldn't resist a quick search for stray bottles that might lurk inside...

Is it me or is the room melting? Hard to believe this was occupied as recently as 2003, according to a calander still hanging on the wall...

Yup, there's your problem - those 'all weather' skylights just don't work...alas, nothing it the attic but fallen plaster and bat turds, neither of which is very collectable...

So, on to the basement, which showed signs of frequent flooding but was fortunately relativly dry at the moment. Yes! There's a crawl space! I see rusty cans...

Alas, the crawl space was so tight and muddy that I didn't want to risk taking the camera in with me, so no good action shots from there, but I could see some stuff that looked like strap flasks mixed in with the cans. Found a junky Rumford baking powder, then got to the flasks, which were indeed cheesy straps, then a cute little embossed pharmacy and a big amber turm mold whiskey. Everything was just lying on the surface, not much depth to the dirt. I had just about resigned myself to finding nothing of interest when I poked another rusty can out of the way and spotted a hutch behind it. It turned out to be a very rare local guy, Thomas Harkins from Salem, in good condition. Only takes one good bottle to turn things around!

Finally got to a point where there just wasn't enough room to go any further and had to back out with the finds, scaring up a Piso's Cure along the way as a bonus. forgot to bring out the whiskey and the Rumford, didn't feel like going back in after them, so they got left behind(you can just barely see the whiskey behind the can in the last photo)...
