It appears it's never going to stop. I have seen some really nice bottles fall pray to this type of damage. I feel this is similar to staining antique oak furniture with purple stain. Here are a couple more.

Clear goes amethyst, aqua goes that straw color, cobalt goes an ugly green and I'm sure if you tried other colors would do other things. Some just get darker than others also.

Some irradiated aqua can turn amethyst, most cobalt turns a yucky olive green but some shades of blue/cobalt apparently turn a yucky dark green and also some turns a not too bad teal which really bugs me.[:'(]

OK, I'll own up to that aqua part I guess. Remembering back I think it was the clear from selenium that went straw. Emphasis on remembering though.
At any rate, it's not just clear from manganese that turns.
Then there's the ever popular staining process also. []
