Hi guys. Been a while since I've posted. Winter is a horrible time for me with the seasonal depression. I totally miss the California weather, that's for sure!! [;)] So I haven't really wanted to be out in the cold, digging for anything. I really can't wait for spring, since we have some nice shallow creeks all over our area, and, I'd love to take diving lessons, since we live close to the river. Don't know if that will happen, so I'll stick to hiking in the woods and along creeks. And if I ever get up the nerve, asking for privy permissions.

Anyway, I was out at our local thirft store today, when I found this awesome textured, aqua blue brandy snifter. I'm guessing it was BIM (but my knowledge is limited, so I ask the experts). It stands about 8 1/4 inches tall, and the diameter at the widest is about 4-5" wide. It's a pretty big glass. The lip has waves around it, but they're not even, and in one spot on the lip it's almost flat. The stem was definitely applied by hand.

This is the closest I've found to what it looks like http://www.1stopretroshop.com/mod-bottles-and-vases/vintage-brandy-snifter-vase-aqua-blue.htm This one is obviously bigger than the one I have, and the color isn't as deep.

I don't care if it's worth anything or not. I mean, I bought it for 2 bucks, just because I liked the way it looked. I was hoping to see if there was a maker for it, just to see if it's maybe vintage.

I haven't decided what I'm going to use it for, but oddly, I thought it would look cute with a goldfish in it, but's a pretty deep blue. Maybe flowers, or I'll put it on my front hall table and put candy in it. I definitely think it's worth more than 2. I was surprised it wasn't in the display case! I love snagging a good thrift store find.

Hi Gromit

I`m not sure if you got my e-mail or not. I saw in one of your older posts that you came across some Civil War era Dyottville bottles with the O`Kane name on them. If you are ever interested in selling good condition ones with first initial D or J, I would appreciate your consideration.

Thanks,

Jim O`Kane
