different sizes my, best guess is that these are perfume bottles?? samples?? this was a major department store in toledo ohio, and was eventully bought out by dillards
I saw this online. Two of them were near each other. The telling is from about 1950.
"After work Mom and I would go to Linck's cafeteria then over to the Lion Store on St Clair Street. or down to LaSalle and Kochs that ran from the Spitzer Arcade on Madison to Adams Street."
Now we got address, time to go surfing.
The Boody House hotel was gorgeous from the picture I saw. Too bad. A Toledo landmark for fifty-five years, the Boody hotel stood at the corner of Madison Avenue and St. Clair Street. The hotel opened in June 1872 with 133 guest rooms, each with its own fireplace. Hot and cold water ran in each room, a novelty for the day. The building was torn down in 1928 to make way for the Ohio Savings Bank and Trust Company.
The bottles are great and none of those places exist anymore so I'm sure ther's interest, don't you think? Even the Lion store got bought out.
So , madman. When are you gonna get mad enough to write the book?
