Here is another one i just cleaned up. Amazing the condition of the bottles from this one site. This is a tooled crowntop looks partially machine made. Totally Loaded with seed bubbles. Has a round bottom. Stands with a major tilt. Very crude. Does anyone know what year they made bottles like this in America. Let me know what you think. Too bad it is not embossed. Hope you like.

Tooled crowns stretched into the teens, many small glasshouses took a while to changeover to fully machine made bottles and in some cases did some super small orders the old fashioned way and left bigger orders for the new machines. I have a tooled top deco soda Kola Mint that is 1915-1918.

I see the suction scar on the base. That screams machine made. Not sure about the lip.

I tend to agree with nhpharm on the bottle being machine made. I have to prepare for a long trip, so I will have to elaborate with photo details at a later date. (Antique Bottles is my coffee read this morning:).)

I will add that I think the imperfections you note might be due to a couple causes such as a glass batch not properly prepared (wrong temperature perhaps) and/or early machine technology not properly implemented by a recent adopter, etc. The fact that a, machine made in my opinion, bottle leans contributes to my opinion.

Are these out of the sloughed embankment that you mentioned in an earlier posting?

This is from that very spot. I know of a couple. They all kick out beauties. They almost look tumbled. I get after drying, a light white haze or mineral deposit inside. That would tumble out in no time.

It looks machine made to me?
I trust you know what your talking about, I saw the sucton mark and knew it was machine but the lip was throwing me a curve ball. Thank you nhpharm and you too willong, have a safe trip. I appreciate the lesson, really. I do have actual tooled crowntops. I should dig them out and look at the differences myself. Ttyl.

Does anyone know what causes those ^ marks all over the bottle? They look like a bunch of upside down V's. Why so many bubbles? Very curious. Thanking you all in advance for everyone's thoughts.
