A little taster for a digging story to come: not sure how familiar you lot over in the States are with British bottles, but here are two top - end stoneware ginger beers dug by me and my digging buddy Darren a little while ago. Date to about 1900, and are hens-teeth rare. Will post the full story in a week or two .....

Jerry, you and your digging partner were very lucky. Not that you found great bottles but you found two. Imagine the dispute if they were three. It's a good way to loose a friend...

Hi Miahi,
Darren and I are pretty laid back about this kind of thing. We have been digging together for several years wthout a problem. The East Bros bottle is now in my collection. Darren kept a few other bottles (1840s - 60s stonewrae porter bottles) for his. The Economic bottle is shared between us, and will be disposed of eventually, when we find a deal we are both happy with. Until then it lives on Darrens shelves. The important thing is to dig with someone you trust, and who isn't greedy!

I've been digging with only a few people, all very close to me and the way we split the bottles it's something like I like these ones, you like those ones and the rest are common property. Simple.

You guys are so lucky to dig up such a variety of different ginger beers. I've only dug one whole one and have owned 3 or 4 in the past 5 years and they are all plain. I just love that ink. Beautiful bottles guys, keep 'em coming. Swizzle
