Hi'ya Charlie,

Truly terrible photos by that fleabayster, coupled with an even worse description... It looks like it may have some base wear. Cannot see any of the detail on the etching, which appears elaborate enough to have some age behind it.

Possible artifact...

Just doesn't look right does it? Crown is too grainy...seems if you could afford the bottle in George the Third's time you could afford better engraving. It looks like they used one of those acid etching kits you can get at Hobby Lobby. The neck is too long and looks out of proportion and the lip looks like the ones on those colored fake half post bottles.
But then I have not been around a lot of Georgian half post decanters[:(]

Not even the proper crown style for the British monarchy.
