Umbrella ink and Skull clay pipe

Dug these in a 1870's 18'x6' monster privy! Ink is open pontil I was told 40's -60's. Pipe was told 1870's.

Was told 1840's then also 1860's ??

Narrowing down to 10 years is about impossible unless you know the manufacturer. If they were only in business for a short time than you know. In this case you don't but with the Lomax, 1840-70 is a pretty good call if it's all from the same pit.

Yeah the Loamax I just bought at a shop the other day. The ink and pipe I dug years ago. I'm new and just thought I should see if any one out there knows about any of the more intresting finds I have. I have been watching this site for years. Its was the Lomax that stumped me! Nice site lots of Info. And the pipe is in one pice. Has wrighting all over it but I would need to find it so dont ask for Pics...

Two great finds, but the pipe is my favorite. I would love digging a pipe like that.
