I like old lab glass. Hard to find.
I got my degree in Dairy science...don't remember any modern version of that. Butter fat is tested in tubes( Babcock tudes) so you so not have to use much milk.
If it had a stopper that would allow the seepage of air then it could have been used to drain off the bottom layer when two liquids separate (like milk and butter fat). A cork with a hollow glass tube would work....you could use your thumb to control the amount of air entering the tube. Just a thought.
