Hi, is that just an example? I see right through it so it's hard to imagine as unopened. I'm not sure but I think I read the the light cobalt had a limited production run, maybe during WWI.

Ah, you added a picture while I was approving it. It has a cap yes but it's not unopened. MOM's was and it a thick white liquid.

Welcome to the forum, J. Dittmar. :)It's neat that it retains its cap.

I've never seen a non-cobalt (light) or aqua one. :/

this bottle was emptied then resealed . this bottle was made from about 1919 to the 1930s . and it's value is negligible . I can sell them for a dollar at the flee market all day long.

About 50-75% of all the screw cap bottles I dig have the original cap on them, and were already opened. It was just a common practice to keep the cap on. I dug a cork top one once with something inside it. Not sure if it was magnesia, but it was some of the worst smelling stuff I have ever found!

I've seen a few pictures of them, never in person. This isn't one of them though, they were cork-top bottles. The cobalt bottles varied in intensity quite a bit though, this is one of the lightest I've seen.

Unfortunately, a very common bottle, though their cobalt colour is a draw. When I first started collecting in the early 1980s, friends and family did their best to help out. One way was to give me Phillips' Milk of Magnesia bottle after Phillips' Milk of Magnesia bottle which they'd find at garage sales, flea markets, etc. They always thought I'd appreciate the name connection, since my last name is Phillips!
