It was windy here in Washington yesterday and that creates a fun day to look along the river shore line that gets pulled out. I found the two bottles and I am intrigued. First off it is so cool they were both made here in my town and second would love to have a idea of the age. I located other examples of Ver-Vac bottles with this same beautiful blue color and 6 1/2 oz on line, but they have a actual date on the bottom of the 1920's - this bottle has A G W 91-1 or if you flip it it would be 1 -16, but the A G W would be upside down.

The E R MIxon & Co has Washington NC and property of E R Mixon & Co and on the bottom says 9 OZ. So it is a nine ounce bottle. measured that too! The bill I found for E R Mixon was being offered on Ebay right now and it states that they were bottlers of Pepsi.

Any idea or suggestion of the dates of these bottles? I can't believe they were hiding right near my home for all these years and were not destroyed! So exciting.

I have found other bottles throughout the years, but none that were made in my town, so I love these. The blue color of the Ver-Vac is so stunning too as I had not seen that blue color before. I almost missed it as it was completely hidden except for a three inch side that made me pull it out of the sand.

Let me know how I can date these two bottles. Thank you.

neat , bottles often hide near rivers , especially older ones so not that uncommon to find them there . I don't know anything specific about them , other than there obviously older soda bottles from that era .

I would imagine there is more bottles in your area just based on its location and fact it has rivers

I picked up some liquor bottles and a catsup bottle that were in the 1940's era based on their markings when the river pulled out a number of years back , but these local bottles have some cool history for our town. Looking forward to seeing if anyone knows how old they may be. Thank you.

Well that is neat that you are in NC. RickNC what sort of age/date do you think these bottles are from? Does the A G W 91-1 or if tuned over 1 -16 have any meaning on the bottom of the Ver-Vac bottle?

I didn't offer a date in original post but likely from 20's > 40's era , somewhere in that age range , hard to say exactly but they've been there for a while

Wow. Really amazing for them to survive all those years on the river bottom. Thank you.
