COOL! I stumbled onto a small farm dump the other day looking for Morels. Found a nice local blob wiess beer and a couple meds. Unfortunately, they were all broken. I found one med top that a branch of a small bush had grown through about 4 feet off the ground. I should have taken a picture. I'll be going back to scratch around some more for sure. BTW, the Morels I have found (50-60) the last couple days were all on south facing slopes under dead Elms with sparse tree cover. I've found nothing on slopes facing other directions or deep in the woods where the tree cover is providing more shade ... yet.
I assume your in Michigan? GL with your future forays.
Sure looks green back there. Still a nice walk in the woods and some cool finds.
I never really get into the morels until the last saturday in april when I can fry them up with some brookies.
Here's a haul of Morels from last year from around the Gaylord area.
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT ROCKS AND BRICKS. SEEMS IF THE BOTTLES DIDN'T BREAK, THEY FOLLOWED 'EM UP WITH SOMETHING TO HELP BREAK THEM. NICE TO FIND A FEW SURVIVORS AFTER ALL.
