How about a 4" cobalt, owl poison bottle? This weekend, my mom baught 3 bottles from a yard sale. The smallest was a 4" cobalt owl drug company poison bottle for 50 cents. next was a bromo for .75 cents and lastly was a milk of magnesia bottle for 1 dollar. The prices went lowest for the smallest bottle and highest for the larger. [:D][:D]

Good ol' mom, I love her to death. She is always finding me bottles to "recycle" at yard sales (I say recyle cause they are always throwbacks). but this time she did very very good. I already have a 2 5/8" tall owl poison, the 4" will look really good next to it. Supposedly there is no damage, not even a scratch, according to mom. When I get it from her I will take a photo of it along with the one I already have.

What is the best deal "you" have ever made for a good bottle?

I got this picture from the web, it is just a representation of my bottle until I get mine in my hands:

Nice score for a $75-$125 bottle. We got lucky and scored a great deal over a year ago on a nice poison due to a poor photo. We took a chance and it was what we thought it was. Saved us over $50 cuz nobody else was willing to take the chance.

Last year at the antique mall where I have a booth, I spotted a stained Hutchinson in one of the other booths. Most of the other dealers look down on bottles so I was surprised to see a Hutch there and when I looked at it the bottle was from New Mexico. I had seen the exact same bottle, except cleaner, sell in American Bottle Auctions for $600. The price was $5.00 but that dealer had a 25% off sale so I got it for $3.75.
I figured even severely stained it would bring at least $300. on ebay. It actually sold for $540. What a deal. I have found other good bottle bargains there but nothing as ridiculous as that one.

found an insulator (cd-102 Brookfield) for 50-cents once at a community sale. Insulators worth just that but the last yard sale i saw insulators at they wanted around $20 a piece for the junk they had so for 50 cents i cant complain.

Found this flask in a small town antique mall one day. It had 3 potstones with issues, two with large cracks.. I had the attendant call the owner and work a deal for this and a ginger ale colored New England Eagle-Cornucopia for $300. The second flasks was worth my investment in my opinion so it was a no brainer. After a couple hours laying on a table at a bottle show getting feedback and some $2000+ offers, I priced it at $4500 and sold it a few minutes later, despite the damage..I miss it but with the pot stone cracks I would have always been nervous. Mint it would have sold for $30,000+.
