What kind of bottle is this? Cologne, aftershave, perfume…?

I came across this bottle and thought that it was kind of neat. It definitely looks very old. It has a bluish milky tint, almost translucent around the bottom edge. The top is silver and stuck closed. It had a blue design painted on it that has mostly worn off. Any thoughts on what kind of bottle this is and it's age?

Ok, maybe it's just a Pond's cold cream jar. I just saw one that has a hinged lid like this one.
