    Large early 7up bottle U7P

I just listed this unusual 7 oz. 8 bubble 7UP bottle on ebay with the embossed U7P. I could not find another one with the painted info on the back side like this one has. Some were similar but not another one like this bottle says on it. It also has the distributor's name painted in the info...

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

Thanks for your imput. I saw a few with this coloring of stone when searching. I know 2 brothers were down in Mexico in the 1920's and were selling stone faces to tourists and telling them they found them when plowing fields. Usually the fakes were much bigger trying to be claimed to be funeral...

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

I saw you mentioned the Olmecs, this is the stone mask I found last summer at a yard for $1 and it probably dates to 1500-2500 years old.

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

Thanks Roy for getting involved with your time trying to figure it out. I myself do that a lot when someone posts a mysterious object. Once in awhile I am able to solve it which is very satisfying and I am a good researcher because I sell on ebay now for 23 years but this bottle still eludes me...

Hi from the middle of nowhere!!

Looks star trekky to me :). My guess is that it was made in the 1940's or maybe a bit later. If you can the remains of some old houses, often they would trhow trash into the outhouses. If you dig around, you may find soil littered with bits of glass or of a different color. Dig down a ways and...

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

Thanks for your comments. It has been on my What is this shelf for months and then I discovered this site so maybe someone will be able to identify it eventually. It is a crazy looking piece unlike anything I have ever found before. Nothing online looks like it either.

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

also, maybe that isn't an pontil on the bottom. It has scratches in the a tool would make, maybe when blowing the glass. There is a term cracking off or burst off glass which blew the glass and then chipped away the rim. https://sha.org/bottle/finishstyles3.htm Good night.

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

Hi, I added a picture of the base. The glass is thick, cloudy/foggy and looks so old to me. The bubbles are all sorts of sizes and in clusters. Looks so primitive. I thought it may have had a triangular cork stopper like in antique jars. Thanks for your impressions.

Crude Triangular Jar with Pontil & Tooled Rim Ancient or Just Old?

I found this wide mouth triangular shaped jar at an estate sale. It looks like the oldest and crudest bottle by far that I have ever found in the last 50+ years of digging and looking. I recently found a pre-Columbian stone Olmec face pendant that dates to around 1500-2500 years old so it is...
