Then they are worthless to a collector unless they have some sort of in making inclusion (rocks, bubbles, different color swirls, etc.)

I'm sorry, your question is too vague. There are no purple insulators with the embossing of yours. There are lots of purple insulators, some quite inexpensive, $20 - $25, others into the $1,000s. If you mean a WHITALL - TATUM No. 1 they go for the lower end, $20 - $25. They have the same general shape.

Good question, Eric. The Hemingray 45 began production in 1938. I'm not sure if any glass makers were still using manganese at that point. Bell Telephone requested clear insulators by the early 1930s, so we don't see much color variation in telephone/telegraph insulators after around 1930.

I just got a teal Hemingray--42 today. 1921-1950s were their lovely production.
