does anyone know anything about this bottle? please help

this bottle is listed on eBay as being from Jersey City - which i collect
that is the conclusion of the lister based on a maybe
BUT nothing on the bottle says anything about where its from
all it says is J. H. Midmer on one side and J.H.M. on the other

The reverse side has the initials J. H. M. in tall, bold type. The bottle is not pontiled, but I'd say that it dates to the late 1860s. It stands 7 1/4" tall. It is difficult to see. So, I'm guessing that this is our man.a bottler in early Jersey City.

Before he was Sherriff in 1868 he owned a Hotel in 1855. Maybe it was Bottled for his Hotel use?? LEON.

I refer to these types of embossed bottles as UNFORTUNATE.
It is UNFORTUNATE that they have no City or State embossed on them.
A common term among many bottle collectors is the word MAVERICK to describe these kinds of bottles. I use MAVERICK in my library to categorize embossed beers like this.
