Michael I'm reposting your information because you are misinterpreting the listings in Bill Porter's Second Edition book, which I also have. Any listing in the book that shows a blank space means the bottle is relatively common. I'm assuming you thought the blank spaces meant they don't exist. Anyway, here is a complete listing for all known D' Patent bottles from Missouri ... Aurora - Bolivar - Brunswick - Butler - Cape Girardeau - Chillicothe - Clinton - Columbia - Ellington - Flat River - Hannibal - Jackson - Jefferson City - Joplin - Kansas City - Kennett - Lebanon - Macon - Marshall - Mexico - Mountain Grove - Poplar Bluff - Salem - Sedalia - Sikeston- Springfield - St. Joseph - St. Louis - Trenton - West Plains All are listed as somewhat common except for the Ellington bottle which is listed as rare.

Yes, sir! You are correct! I apologize for my error. However, that brings up a point. Provided a bottler went out of business or a town name changed, how do you identify that there were none made beyond a certain date from that town?Edit: Wait, I think I understand now. The 'U' means that there might be none issued from that town, or that the scarcity is unknown. I will discuss this with Bill. I think a 'C' for common would be more appropriate, a 'U' for unknown, and a '--' for none issued.

Here's the actual listing I scanned from Bill Porter's book, which shows all of the hobbleskirts from Missouri. I'm also including his rarity definitions. Plus, here's Bill's public email address for anyone interested in purchasing a copy of his latest, updated book ... oldcokes@aol.com

Wacko town and county names. Whiskey is part of the Beaver Archipelago which is part of... Marrion(?) county? I don't recall.
