Is there a web site that I can find the histery of home canning jars like ball, or atlas. you know information like how the first jars looked and what years they made certain changes in the shapes of there jars? I`m just starting to collect and I want to see what I can find this summer at yard sales and flea markets.
thanks in advance, Ron.

Ron, Try looking under Fruit Jars, as that's what canning jars are referred to in collector circles. Sorry I can't be more help.

Ron, there is an excellent article by Dave Hinson at

http://www.fohbc.com/FOHBC_References3.html

Also, if you go to www.google.com and search "fruit jar history" you'll get a plethora of other offerings.

Good luck - Tammy
