is this an ink?

i havnt found any bottle like this yet and today i found two. one broken and this one is intact...its a blank, no words or anything . im just wondering what it is. im thinking it is an ink bottle. it has this little pocket made into the top....

That's what I thought when I found my first one of those, but I was told it was a glue.

its an ink, turn it upside down and the pocket collects some ink to dip your pen in[]

Thanks, I found one last weekend. The base is embossed: PAT'D1759866 with a 5 in a circle. The design came quite late in ink pen development.

thanks all, an ink it is.....nice picture cobalt,always interesting to see what your bottle looks like with its label.......mine has the exact same pat number creekwalker but mine has a 1 in a circle instead of a 5......

I believe that particular ink is from the sixties , maybe fifties ?

I see those bottles quite often. The bottle itself is only about a dollar. The ones with label and box are $5.-$10.

Hi, I never did find out how the mold equipment went together to make these inks on an ABM. I have a couple of them, but there had to be some magic done with the plunger assembly. RED Matthews.
