Hello Dennis and Merry Christmas to you! Do you know what region this Cola/ war took place ? I know growing up in Ohio that Pepsi was by far the favorite, Then moving south, Coke was the dominate Cola. Just curious ! Thanks for sharing your information Dennis.

It was national, regional, and local at the same time. In the WWI era Coke and Chero-Cola battled for business in the deep South. Coke and Pepsi were the major players in the Carolinas, Vriginia. There were regional favorites such as Mint Cola and Taka Kola. Koca Nola and Celery-Cola, among others, were national competitors for awhile. Pepsi went bankrupt twice - in the early '20s and again in the early '30s. Pepsi became the major national competitor to Coke in the 1930's with their 12 ounce bottle for the same price as a 6 ounce Coke. And you're right, Coke was stronger in the South when Pepsi rose from the ashes in the 1930's. Pepsi got it's strength in the north and in larger cities where Coke already had a lot of competition with popular local brands.
