Ever since I found a Lucas Brothers stone bottle down in the river by my house, I have been in love with them. So, I was out at a big garage sale day and I came across this J. S. Briggs Co. stone bottle. The guy wanted 20 bucks for it, so I offered him 15. I have no idea how much it is worth, but I figure its gotta be worth more than 15 bucks. Either way I am trying to grow my collection, but being a college student on a budget doesn't always make it easy haha. Thanks for looking![attachment=IMAG3424.jpg]

Nice stoneware bottle. A Brigg's isn't too rare. This one looks like it is in fine shape. Fifteen is a great price for one in that condition. A Lucas Bros is a nice bottle as well. There are many central NY stoneware bottles available from time to time. Scott

There is a book covering the earthen ware jugs made by three or foru shops in the town now called MONTOUR FALLS NY that shipped their products by boat out on Seneca Lake and on to the Erie canal to New York City to Chicago from this little town. RED Matthews
