I got lucky today! I'm going to do some research on this fantastic bottle! Hopefully I find out who M was!

Edit: The M stands for John Matthew's
John Matthews of the gravitating stopper? That seems odd that he'd emboss his initial on the side of the bottles he designed. Where'd you read that? Or was this a different John Matthews?

The bottle design was sold to John Mathews in 1864 by Albert Albertson. Maybe the M stands for Marcellus
