    Need Help Identifying A Tile

Hi, It is most definitely river tumbled, and it is certainly not resin! I checked your suggestions and I think you might be right but still can't date it, because it seems it has been going since roman times. I live in South Wales UK and we know that there was a lot of roman activity in this...

    Need Help Identifying A Tile

Hi, Haven't been here for a while, found this tile yesterday in the river, does anyone have any idea how old it might be or what it might have been used for. Any information gratefully received.

    Chatelaine Perfume Bottle?

Hi Again, It actually doesn't hang from the chain, the top has a ring on it, which I think must have had a chain going through it, if you take the top of it the chains at the bottom shorten, the top does not come right off but is on the chain, inside is some sort of wadding, the top is...

    Chatelaine Perfume Bottle?

Yet another item of interest for you all. This perfume bottle was a gift given to me some years ago. I always thought it was made of metal but today put a magnet on it and it did not respond, on closer investigation it appears to be glass, very thick though, it is very ornate, green in...

    Interesting Bottle

Thanks Guys, once again you have answered my question between you! The bottle is identical to the one suggested by cowseatmaize on Aussi ebay which sold for $29.95 so well worth going to look for more I think. Date wise the ebay ad said 1890 to 1920, that was the information I wanted, needless...

    Identification Please

ooooH I think he is awfully close there, but.... the top on mine is not as high and it sort of dips inside to the hole, which I now see is oval in shape not round, but I'm happy to accept this as there were probably variations depending on who made them, so now about how old is it? or are there...

    Identification Please

Ohhhhh!! whatever it is, it is certainly a curiosity, and I am going to keep it as it will probably be an entertaining source of conversation with friends and guests. It's pouring down with rain today so I can't take some pictures in a natural light. Sorry for putting measurements down in...

    Identification Please

As I said can only put a pencil in the hole it is most definitely hollow and does weigh almost 2lbs. The top opening is also unusual as you can see from the pic the rim is about 3 cms but this is not the size of the hole as it sort of sinks in and becomes much smaller probably less than a 1/4"...

    Identification Please

Well thanks to all for the very interesting and entertaining banter, firstly there are (as far as I can see) no makers marks on it, secondly you would need a perfect 'aim' for it to be a spitoon, and also as it weighs over 875g which is not exactly portable, and at least would need a very large...

    Identification Please

Can't see it was for candles unless they were birthday cake candles which I'm not sure were around when this thing was made, [do you think it pre dates 1900 then?
