    Check this RARE one out

There still seems to be some confusion here with some members concerning NUKING verses SCA (sun colored amethyst). In my opinion, as well as Jim's and Matt's, is that NUKED bottles are glass that has been subjected to Gama rays from machines emitting radiation to sterilize vegetables, hospital...

    EC&M mounted

A threadless angled side pin would be much rarer than a threaded pin, and the EC&M is a threaded insulator........why use a threadless pin?

    California Gold Rush

Hey Matt, in the early '70's my buddies and I dug the lot (at that time) next to the old Bell store downtown Coloma, just north of you. Found some pontilled black glass, a pontilled sarsaparilla, and two 20 dollar gold coins! The coin I found was dated 1848 and like mint condition. I know...

    Green pontiled bottles

Dark emeral green, teal blue/green, and light green pickles, all graphite or improved pontils. The middle one and one on the right are Willingtons.

    Green pontiled bottles

Not really green, and not blue. But teal colored! At 15 inches tall, the tallest Willington I have seen. Graphite pontil.

    Aqua pontiled bottles

Six sided cathedral pickle in common mold, with not-so-common expanded mouth, and sand chip pontil. I am a large man ( 6ft.4in. tall ) with large hands, and I can put my hand thru the top of this jar!

    Owl Drug Company Blog

Hey Glen, I have been waiting awhile to see if someone would post something about this site. I see that you made no comments about this, so I will put my 2 cents in. This is a very bitter old man who thinks that he is the only person that knows anything about collecting Owl Drug bottles and...

What did these hold back in the day?

The guy that brought them to Santa Rosa show may have been John Thompson. He lives in Santa Rosa and specializes in pickles, peppersauces, and sauce bottles. Just saw him at the Reno Expo, he has been AWOL from the hobby for a long time. After seeing Lou Pelligrini's pickle and sauce display, I...

What did these hold back in the day?

Hey Jim, does CHUTNEY ring a bell? This is what I remember from the "old" days. Dennis

    HESPERIDINA BARREL BITTERS ARGENTINA

I just sold the miniature version of this bottle, full labels, foil cap and contents, on ebay. Brought around $100. I have seen the larger size, with labels, sell for about the same. Could bring several hundred, but I doubt it would be in the middle range of 3 figures as Jim suggests.
