    Cookeville, TN Coke Dig

Quick dig with my buddy Samuel yielded a wide variety of Cookeville cokes. Unfortunately all heartbreakers including a nearly whole Knoxville amber and two nearly whole block lettering Cookeville variants. I wish I could tell the story about the dig but I'm keeping it private out of respect for...

How do you mitigate the cold when digging?

A tiny bit of liquor keeps the belly warm...just kidding. ;) Getting the body warm with tea/coffee/soup before going out in the cold always helps me maintain a higher core temp. Maybe bring an extra set or two of socks to dry your feet out regularly, and an extra pair of junk shoes if they can...

    Historical Maps

Did you purchase those maps? I can slightly use the image on the website as guidance but I can't zoom to the level of detail that would be practical. @sewingmom amazing resource! I had been using this site for general property viewing and had no idea of this capability. Many many thanks to you.

    America's First ACL Soda Bottle

Incredible work behind that article! I enjoyed the history as well as your writing/narration style.

Sanborn-Google Map Overlay for a Fellow Member

Here is a quick video I made for a fellow forum member for a local town to showcase what can be done with modern tools (definitely not perfect by any means). I took a Sanborn from the LOC and overlaid it on google earth's satellite image.

    SE Illinois Digging

I thought I remembered you said you were from the Chicago area! If I ever make it that far I will definitely lt you know in advance. I only had a short time this trip so I tried doing some arrowhead hunting on the cumberland river in Kentucky. Seems like that entire area is full of history...

    Facebook Braggers Be Like...

@UncleBruce I understand your sentiment. The thrill of any hobby always starts with the unknown and the want for more. I'm not disappointed I don't have a huge horde of 1800s bottles. This satire wasn't directed at any single person. @hemihampton I may be super cheeky but I definitely mean well...

It's Monday...so I found time to gather up my pontilled 1800s collection that I inherited and dug in the 1980s and snapped a phot for you all. Be jealous! It's Tuesday! Take a look at my 5 labeled stoneware gallon jugs!!! It's Wednesday, does anyone want to see some of my cool, labeled meds...
