French Square 30 oz bottle with NP and shamrock - 1870s-80s? Canadian?

Hey, all! yesterday I picked this oddball piece up from a local thrift shop and I'm a bit stumped. I'd appreciate any help. Here are the particulars about this one: On the front it has the large letters "NP" embossed on either side of a shamrock shape, all contained within a rectangular box...

Amber B.A. Earl Allegheny, PA beer

Hey, all This is a re-post from the "finds" section of the site, but I thought this might be a more appropriate place to ask. I picked up this B.A. EARL beer from Allegheny, PA at a local S.W. Ontario antique store a week or two back and can't find much info on it. All I've heard so far is...

Amber B.A. Earl Allegheny, PA beer

That's what I've been told. Was hoping to find a PA collector who could tell me more. Thanks for the note!

    Eclectric Oil

Post some photos of the blue insulators you found! Even if they’re broken they may be worth bringing hom if they’re rare enough!

Amber B.A. Earl Allegheny, PA beer

Hey, all! I haven't posted in a while but still actively collect local bottles. Being north of the pond (Lake Erie) I don't see or know a lot about American bottles. I mostly collect Ontario bottles local to my area. I found this piece at an antique store in Ontario today and thought it...

    digging in western australia

Very cool. I spent a month in Perth last year (Specifically, Success) and saw some cool bottles in antique shops while there. Never did get on a dig, but brought a couple pictorial pieces back from the east coast when I got out there. If you come up with any Perth or Fremantle spares you'd...

    Best Water Pump?

Hey, Guys Been digging in a good dump over the past few years with some good success levels on many days, but my biggest problem is how swampy the spot is. The trash layer in the dump, at the best times of the year, starts about a foot or two above the water level, and continues down to well...

    Modern seltzer bottle search

Hey, Folks! It's been a while since I logged onto this forum, but good to be back and see the place looks better than ever! I know a fellow who is running the sole remaining commercial-scale seltzer-bottling business in Canada. Apparently, he is in dire need of bottles as he can't keep up with...

Digging for bottles? Just harvest them!

Looks like a good spot! Quit bringing that shovel with you though - you won't need it. Heh. :P

Recent medicine finds - Lincoln, NE and Bethlehem, NH

Hey, Jim! I heard you were asking about me. I'm still around, just not too active in the online world of thing anymore. I'd rather be out digging. :P The Bethlehem piece is a hair over 2 3/4" tall, 1 1/16" wide, and 3/4" deep. It looks like a half oz piece to me.

Recent medicine finds - Lincoln, NE and Bethlehem, NH

Next up is an odd wooden bottle complete with wooden stopper. Can't say I've seen too many... I suppose because they don't hold up well to being buried for 90 years or so. This piece has a paper label attached which reads: ANTI-PILL OFFICE OF S. LEONHARDT, M.D. LINCOLN, NEBRASKA...

Recent medicine finds - Lincoln, NE and Bethlehem, NH

Hey, guys! Just picked up a couple not-so-local meds at a yard sale here in London, ON. Can anyone tell me anything about either of these pieces? Both are available if anyone is interested. First piece is a cool little half-oz med from: Smith's Pharmacy WHITE MOUNTAINS...

    todays dig

I would say test tube on the amber piece. Looks like it was designed to maybe fit into a wire rack with that wide lip. Looks like similar quality and colour glass to a couple old syringes I found up this way. Very cool bottles. I like the Pablo piece!

    Newbie to insulators...

The diamond-marked piece in the blue colour is a bit of a tougher piece. It is made by the Diamond-Flint Glass Company, though to be honest I don't know enough about the company's history to tell you exactly which factory location produced that piece. Regardless, the blue colour that yours is in...
