For specifics, you could go to the birthplace of your bottle and contact the Dutch bottle club De oude Flesch. their website is under construction but you may well find an answer on their facebook. https://www.facebook.com/oudeflesch/
Hi
Nutricia was started in 1896 by 4 Dutch brothers that were looking for another way of dispensing of their milk.
It will most probably be double dutch to you, but here's their website and history.

Finally have to start clearing up some bottles.

Hi Cliff
I'm on one of my rare surfs on the forum, and I come across this magnificent bottle.
The date you quote is about right, however it is not a wide mouthed case gin, but a so called seed bottle. Once in a while, on very rare occasions you might come across one in Holland
Apparently they...
Dear tinfoil
I can go along some way with your feelings (not the comments !) but at the same time it is not correct to misquote !!

Its like my bulldog Tuppence, so ugly it is beautiful !!
I envy you your "loaf"

Hand made earthen and salt glazed containers. Various sizes 4" to 8"high. Used for dyes and black paste. Period 1850-1930s. Value 50p to one pound fifty...
Have dug dozens of a variety of sizes. The ones where some of the content was still present, it tended to be a semi liquid waxy substance of a yellowish brown colour. So some sort of polish as you had already suggested.
Just dug some out of a box, and the makers stamps were in my case Doulton...
Every once in a while one of these saltglazed brown mineralwater bottles pops up.
Very often they are embellished with very nice, but very mysterious marks.
Well if you have one of those, then here's the site you may find where it actually comes from...
The coloureds are as rare here as they are anywhere, the green one is dutch, the amber one belgian.
Nice thing about being on the continent, not many (as yet) bottle collectors, so sometimes you really come across bargains here. Look at this one on the left for $1 !!
