Wondering if anyone has ever seen a Rumford Chemical works bottle this big. I got this a couple days ago and was wondering how rare it was.I put a regular rumford next to it to compare sizes. I have found alot of smaller ones but never this size.
Looks like you are digging 20s and 30s stuff. The Jumbo peanut butter jar is not a bad find I see you found several small items are you digging in a dump area?
Thanks Guys really enjoy them earlier holes. The bottle below the master ink has very early script and says E. Anthony New York. Believe it was some type of chemical bottle.
Here are some photos from my last two digs in the same yard found some nice stuff and fianilly found my first whole umbrella ink. Has anyone ever seen a carters master ink with the embossing along the side. I have only seen it on the bottom and on the collar of the bottle> Gotta love the color...
Correction on the pickle meant to say pepper sauce was in a hurry when I posted he he.. Was a great dig and we did enjoy it and yes it was very unusual to dig that many snuffs in one hole I have only dug one before last saturdays dig. Thanks all for the comments.
Lots of great digging this past saturday here are some pics! Found 29 snuff bottles in one hole gotta be some kind of record! Also found a cathederal pickle -4 druggist bottles-A blob whiskey -some nice 1870s meds and a whole lot more...
There where privies not to far from the back of the house but from my experiance you also find that they put cisterns and wells closer to the house. I usually find most of the privies 20 - 30 ft out the back door on the right or left hand side of the walk and or on the back alley way or back...

Yup you are right the good ole paines celery compound not worth much but a good looking bottle for display I have dug probably 20 or 30 of them since I started digging.
