Early Jan. Privy recoveries

I dug a wood liner behind a shed Just after New Years day. It was 5 x 7 by 6 feet deep. Not much to show. 1 squat aqua soda, a few embossed 1870's meds. and a white clay pipe. It was a cold cold day and I remember the pit was filled with water and mud. Jim

Sunday's Finds

Dug a deep, water filled, larger than average size privy on Sunday. Mostly broken bottles, stoneware, and other ceramics. Three embossed medicines, one squat soda, and one Home Rule white clay pipe came home with me. Good Digging to you! Jim

Privy I located and dug on Tuesday the 29th.

Hi All, Just signed up. Dug a 6 footer on Tuesday the 29th. It was cold and windy as hell, but the in-laws were visiting and I had the opportunity to get out. The pit I probed out turned out to be 4' wide, 6' long, and 6-6 1/2' deep. The water started at around 3 feet deep. I dug the pit in...
