Thanks Rockbot! I was just reading about your dig under the cars .... You got me excited because I'm an avid caver..... I thought you were digging a cave. I have a few cave locations that have glass in them, but haven't dug them yet. As far as this site goes ... I hope to be going back...

Last one! An unusual tree root ball near "the good spot". We did find one complete bottle that was not as old as we would have liked. We will visit this site again soon ..... with shovels this time!

Piece of an old crock just laying on the surface. As remote as this is, I doubt anybody has ever dug here. ....... Yet!

I love exploring new places in the spring. It's always nice to find new places in the winter on maps and old photos and then exploring them in the spring and hitting "pay dirt"! A friend and I found an area that had a settlement that might date to about the 1840's or so. We did a little...

Some new potential sites!

I actually found some 5 house foundations and three mills. I do hope to do some metal detecting along with some bottle digging. But I will probably have to wait until next spring, as the ground is starting to get hard. I probably have several dumps to choose from. None of the sites I...

Some new potential sites!

Haven't been on here a lot lately! Been too busy out in the woods! Found some really great potential old foundaiton sites. Stuff from the early 1800's to about 1840 or so.

Boating for Bottles!

In the above photo, you can see the blue bottle in the bank facing neck out. In this photo you can see the water line and the boat and how close the bank is. A person could possibly dig bottles right from the boat without even getting out! LOL!

Bottle Netting!

Wow! With all the rain we are getting this week, it looks like the area I found the floating bottles will be flooded just as deep as it was last week, if not deeper! I hope to be out there again Saturday, and the only fishing equipment I bring with might be my fishing net! This may be a trip...

Sounds like you know the area a bit Brains. Yes, what I was trying to articulate is that what we did was the total opposite of searching when the water is low. I have searched when the water was super low at the Kinzua Reservoir. But only a few of the smaller towns were exposed. Morrison...

Bottle Netting!

Oh, and here are the complete bottles I found that day, along with a few leather womans boot pieces. The sole has a very pointed toe that is curled up. Does anybody know what the greenish blue bottle is (there is more blue in it than the photo shows). It looks like a "small milk" to me.

epackage ....... try bottle digging with fishing gear! LOL! Glad I brought a multi-knife with a big blade! The net slung over my shoulder did make a great way to carry a lot of bottles! Rigged to carry bottles:
